When you enroll in one of our medical plans, you automatically receive prescription coverage through OptumRx. The amount you pay depends on the drug prescribed to you (generic, preferred brand, or non-preferred brand), if the drug is a preventive or maintenance medication, and whether you purchase it at a retail pharmacy or through mail order. This chart shows a summary of your out-of-pocket expenses for prescription medication. You will always have lower out-of-pocket costs if you use an in-network pharmacy.
